This privacy policy describes how MyMealTicket ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name you choose. Your password is securely hashed and stored by our authentication provider (Supabase).

Recipe data: Recipes you add to the app, including text, images, and source URLs. This data is stored in our cloud database so it can sync across your devices.

Usage data: We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking data. We do not use cookies for tracking purposes.

How We Use Your Information

• Authentication: Your email address is used to sign you in and identify your account.
• Recipe processing: When you import a recipe (from a URL, photo, PDF, or social media link), the content is sent to an AI service (Anthropic Claude) for extraction. The AI service processes the content to create a structured recipe and does not retain your data after processing.
• Household sharing: The app uses a shared household model. Members of your household can see the same recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to function:

• Supabase - database hosting, user authentication, file storage, and real-time sync
• Anthropic (Claude API) - AI-powered recipe extraction from text, images, and documents
• Instacart - grocery delivery integration (shopping list export)
• Expo / EAS - app distribution and over-the-air updates

We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any third parties for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage purposes.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

The App offers an optional feature that allows you to provide your own Anthropic API key for AI-powered recipe extraction. If you choose to use this feature, your API key is stored securely on your device and is sent directly to Anthropic's API. We do not store, log, or have access to your API key on our servers.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a cloud database hosted by Supabase. All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Access to your household's data is restricted by row-level security policies - only authenticated members of your household can access your recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists.

No API keys or secrets are stored on our servers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account:

• Your authentication credentials and profile are permanently deleted
• If you are the last member of your household, all associated recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists are also deleted
• If other household members remain, shared data (recipes, meal plans) is preserved for them

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
