Is MyMealTicket really a one-time purchase?

Yes. You pay $4.99 once and the app is yours forever. No subscription, no auto-renewal, no surprise charges. AI-powered recipe imports use credits (about 20 cents each) that you buy as needed — but manual recipe entry, meal planning, and shopping lists are always free.

What are AI credits?

When you import a recipe from a website, Instagram, TikTok, photo, or PDF, the app uses AI to extract and format the recipe. Each import uses 1 credit. You get 20 free credits with your purchase. After that, buy more in packs of 10, 30, or 75. Typing in a recipe manually or importing from another recipe app is always free — no credit needed.

What is BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)?

Power users can enter their own Anthropic API key in the app settings. This lets you use AI-powered imports without spending credits — you pay Anthropic directly at their rates, which is typically cheaper than our credit pricing. Your API key is stored securely on your device and never sent to our servers.

How does household sharing work?

When you create an account, you create a household. Share your invite code with anyone you want — partner, kids, roommates — and they join your household. Everyone sees the same recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists. Changes sync in real time across all devices. There's no limit on household members and no "family plan" upsell.

How does the real-time shopping list work?

Generate a shopping list from your meal plan and it auto-organizes by grocery aisle. While someone is shopping, anyone in the household can add items from their phone — the shopper sees new items appear instantly. Check items off as you shop and everyone sees the progress in real time.

Can I import recipes from another app?

Yes — and it's free, no credits needed. MyMealTicket can import from Paprika, Mela, Crouton, and RecipeKeeper. Export your recipes from your current app and import the file directly into MyMealTicket.

How does Instacart integration work?

Tap "Send to Instacart" on your shopping list and all your items are added to your Instacart cart. You review and complete the purchase in Instacart — we just get the list there accurately. You need an Instacart account to use this feature.

What happens to my recipes if I delete my account?

If you're the last member of your household, all recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists are permanently deleted. If other household members remain, shared data is preserved for them. You can delete your account anytime from Settings.
